Bank Rayat Scholarship (2021)

External Scholarships Scholarships by Country Scholarships in Malaysia

Some students lose their incentive to study after receiving full-ride scholarships; however, recipients of Bank Rayat Scholarship have an incentive to study since their scholarship is dependent on their grades.

Basically, it works like this. All eligible Malaysian students are given the scholarship award; however, whether you pay your scholarship back or not depends on your cumulative GPA. If you do great in college, you don’t have to pay anything back to Bank Rayat; however, if you do poorly, you need to pay your scholarship money back to Bank Rayat.

Always More Incentives!

As I have said before, repayment of your scholarship money depends on your Cumulative Grade Point Average, and CGPA is based on the grades that you make each semester. For example, if you have received the scholarship for a bachelor’s degree, the CGPA will be the average of your four-years of college education.

  • CGPA* : 3.50 ~ 4.00 (0%)
  • CGPA : 3.00 ~ 3.49 (30%)
  • CGPA : 2.75 ~ 2.99 (50%)
  • CGPA : 2.50 ~ 2.74 (70%)
  • CGPA : Less than 2.50 (100%)

*CGPA is based on the 4-point scale, and the percentages refer to the amount of scholarship money that needs to be repaid.

In short, you can get a free education if you keep up a good grade; however, nobody is perfect, so the repayment of the scholarship money increases as your grade decreases. Please remember the repayment and the incentive of the Bank Rayat Scholarship if you are applying for this scholarship!
