How to Study in Canada for Free

External Scholarships Scholarships by Country Scholarships in Canada

Due to its majestic sceneries filled with beautiful nature, Canada is one of the hot places to go for international students. Also, the cold Canadian air with stunning wild beasts also attracts great attention from many prospective students. Now, the only obstacle that stands between you and your Canadian dream is the lack of financial support since you need money in order to study abroad and especially to pay for the transportation fees to visit the natural wonders of Canada. What if there is a way to fully cover the fees for studying abroad? Then, your hard-earned money can be used to tour the Canadian countryside when your school is off for summer and winter vacations. If you are up for a challenge, then let’s get into the full-ride scholarship that is offered by one of the top colleges in Canada.

University of Toronto’s Full-Ride Scholarship

The sponsor for our full-ride scholarship is the University of Toronto, which is one of the top-tier institutions in the country of Canada. As its name might imply, this institution is located in the city of Toronto, which was also ranked as “one of the world’s best places to live.” The key reason why this city earned this title is that Toronto is the most vibrant and diverse urban center in Canada, and it offers all that you can ever dream and even think of. To spice its diversity a little bit more, the University of Toronto has established a full-ride scholarship program that is available to all international students (non-citizens of Canada). This scholarship program is called Lester B. Pearson, and it is currently the most prestigious and competitive scholarship offered by the University of Toronto.

Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship Program

Before we get into the eligibility or application requirements, I want to quickly cover the benefits offered by this full-ride scholarship. Unfortunately, this scholarship doesn’t cover the airfares, so you need to pay for your airplane ticket to and from Canada. Since it covers all the other aspects of your education fees, you can save up your money for touring untamed wilds of Canada. Lester B. Pearson Scholarship Program covers full tuition, books, mandatory fees, and room & board. Since this scholarship is limited to a certain number of applicants, you need to be one of the best in order to qualify for this scholarship’s final round. Before we go any further, let’s also cover the eligibility requirements of this full-ride scholarship.

  • Be Either / Or
    • Currently in Your Final Year of Secondary School
    • Graduated No Earlier Than June*
  • Be a Non-Citizen of Canada
  • Show Outstanding Academic Achievements
  • Show Involvement in Extracurricular Activities and Community Service
  • Demonstrate Strong Leadership Skills

*The year for the month of June varies year by year since the scholarship deadlines are updated every year. If you really are interested in Lester B. Pearson Scholarship, please check the specific dates for this scholarship here. If you are still eligible for this scholarship, let’s continue on with the application procedure for Lester B. Pearson Scholarship. Also, remember that you need to turn in two separate applications for the University of Toronto’s Admissions and Lester B. Pearson Scholarship.

Last but not least, you need to apply for this scholarship offered by the University of Toronto. The application procedure is kind of odd since you need to be nominated by your high school in order to apply. Also, your high school needs to be a part of Lester B. Pearson Scholarship Program, and if your high school is not part of the program, then you can quickly fix that by asking your high school to turn in an application to join Lester B. Pearson Scholarship Program. After you receive the nomination, then you can apply for this scholarship and also don’t forget to apply for University of Toronto’s Admissions as well! Good luck and I’ll see you soon.
