Cost of Attendance
The cost of attendance varies according to the state of residency because Georgia Tech is a public institution. The cost of attendance for Georgia Residents is $28,000 a year, and this figure includes tuition and fees of $12,000 a year, room and board of $11,000 a year, and personal costs.
For out-of-state students, the cost of attendance is $48,000 a year, and that is because the tuition fee for students not from Georgia is $30,000 a year. Everything else costs the same.

Georgia Tech Scholarships

1. Hope and Zell Miller Scholarships
Hope and Zell Miller are for Georgia Residents. Hope and Zell Miller provide $7,740 and $10,008 a year, respectively. Please note that Zell Miller is a full-tuition scholarship for in-state students. They have different eligibility requirements including academics. To be eligible for Hope Scholarships, you will need to have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and to be eligible for Zell Miller, you will need to have a GPA of 3.7 or higher and SAT score of 1200 or ACT score of 26.
2. Provost Scholarships
Provost Scholarships are awarded to students, not from Georgia, and the award covers the non-resident tuition fee so that scholarship recipients pay only in-state tuition. Additional scholarships and financial aid may be used to cover the in-state tuition as well as room and board.
This scholarship is awarded to only 40 of the incoming students, so you will need to be in the top of the applicants to receive this prestigious award.
3. Stamps Scholarship
Stamps Scholarship is a four-year fully-funded scholarship that covers full tuition, room, and board at Georgia Tech. Additionally, the scholarship covers books, a laptop, academic supplies, and personal expenses. It also has $12,000 enrichment funds as well.
Students wanting to apply to this prestigious scholarship must by the Early Action deadline on October 15th. Then, you will be notified if you have been selected as Semifinalist for an interview. Then, out of the semifinalists, 40 Stamp Scholars will be selected.
4. Godbold Family Scholarships
This is a scholarship that meets 100% of the demonstrated need of the student. You will need to score above 1500 on the SAT and need to be from South Carolina, Florida, North Carolina, and Tennessee to be eligible.

Grants
Georgia Tech offers generous grants as well. These grants include institutional, federal, and state grants.
1. G. Wayne Clough Promise
This grant is given to Georgia students who are from families whose income is less than $33,000 a year. It promises to provide fully-funded scholarships that consist of full tuition, room, board, books, and personal expenses. There is no separate application, and you just need to follow a regular application for grants to apply.
2. Georgia Tech Grant
Georgia Tech offers grants from funds set aside for institutional aid and from private donors. It is offered to students who demonstrate financial need.
3. Pell Grants
Pell Grants are federally funded grants offered to students who are from low-income families. The maximum award per year is $6,000.
4. Dean’s Grant Program
This grant is for students who are enrolling in either the College of Science or Ivan Allen College.

How to Apply for Scholarships and Grants
So, how do you apply for scholarships and grants that are available at Georgia Tech? You will need to submit three forms: Georgia Tech Application for Scholarships and Financial Aid, FAFSA, and CSS Profile. These forms will determine how much your demonstrated financial need is.
Also, you will need to submit your application by certain dates. If you want to be considered for Provost and Stamp Scholarship, you will need to submit your application for admission by Early Action Deadline, which is October 15th.
If you do not wish to be considered for these scholarships, you can submit your financial documents by January 31st. However, you need to submit your application for admission by January 1st. I would definitely encourage you to apply for Early Action since you never know if you will get those scholarships, and also, applying Early Action will increase the chances of your admissions.
Loans
Georgia Tech does offer loans as part of the financial aid that it gives to its students. If you don’t need the loans, you should reject the loan. However, if you do need it, it is best to accept the loans that Georgia Tech gives because it will have much better terms than private loans.
Georgia Tech has a great financial aid, especially for its in-state students. So, if you are a Georgia resident, you should definitely consider applying to Georgia Tech because it is an excellent university, and you can be eligible for generous scholarships such as the Zell Miller Scholarships.
