Yes, there are many scholarships offered to Greek Americans, but Pan Hellenic Scholarship Foundation is a place to go to when you are searching for great scholarships concerning undergraduate students of Hellenes descent. PanHellenic Scholarship Awards will be given to prospective students with outstanding achievements and financial need.

PanHellenic Scholarship Awards

Also known as Greek American Scholarships, the PanHellenic Scholarship Awards divide into two groups, and they are $10,000 and $2,500 Awards. In total forty students receive the Greek American Scholarships, twenty $10,000 awards and twenty $2,500 awards are awarded every year to hardworking students.

The $2,500 awards are solely based on academic merit; however, the $10,000 awards are based on academic merit AND financial need. Also, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be eligible for Greek American Scholarships.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen OR US Permanent Resident (Living in the US)
  • Must be of Hellenic Descent
  • Be a Full-Time Undergraduate*
  • Maintained a Minimum Cumulative GPA of at least 3.5
  • Students from US Military Academies Can Apply
  • Students who Graduate from a Non-US High School**

*Be a full-time undergraduate student who is attending an accredited university/college and are pursuing a four-year bachelor degree. Some colleges are not accredited, so make sure to check the status of your college before applying for this scholarship!

**For students who have graduated from a non-US high school, you are eligible to apply once you have completed 24 credit hours at an accredited university/college in the United States.

In addition to students who can apply, the following students are not eligible to apply for the Greek American Scholarships:

  • Employees/Members of the PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation
  • Immediate Family Members of the PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation
  • Students Pursuing an Online Degree

$10,000 Awards VS. $2,500 Awards

There is a difference between $10,000 and $2,500 awards, and that is the financial criteria. For $2,500 awards, the scholarship committee does not take financial need into consideration; however, for $10,000 awards, financial need is an important factor of the Greek American Scholarship.
